Development of a Porcine Slaughterhouse Kidney Perfusion Model

چکیده

Machine perfusion techniques are becoming standard care in the clinical donation and transplantation setting. However, more research is needed to understand mechanisms of protective effects machine perfusion. For preservation related experiments, porcine kidneys acceptable alternatives human kidneys, because their size similar physiology. In this experiment, use slaughterhouse was evaluated with normothermic kidney (NKP), thereby avoiding laboratory animals. Porcine were derived from two local abattoirs. To induce different degrees injury, warm ischemic times used. After preservation, reperfused for 4 h NKP solutions test renal function damage. The effect technique or a short time clearly seen functional markers, such as creatinine clearance fractional sodium excretion levels, well generic damage marker lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). useful alternative animals transplantation- preservation-related questions. maintain during NKP, hypothermic phase mandatory.

A model of isolated, autologously hemoperfused porcine slaughterhouse lungs.

INTRODUCTION Models of isolated and perfused lungs study pathophysiological phenomena of the airways, but are limited by restricted resemblance to the human situation, non-physiological perfusates or the need for the use of high numbers of laboratory animals. The present model was established to address these difficulties. OBJECTIVES Aim of the current study was the establishment of an animal...

Appraisal of the porcine kidney autotransplantation model.

Animal models are extensively used for transplantation related research, especially kidney transplantation. Porcine autotransplantation models are considered to be favorable regarding translatability to the human setting. The key determinants for translatability of the model are discussed, comprising animal age, development, anatomy, anesthesia and surgical protocols, and perioperative care. Wi...

Remote effects of acute kidney injury in a porcine model.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common and serious condition with no specific treatment. An episode of AKI may affect organs distant from the kidney, further increasing the morbidity associated with AKI. The mechanism of organ cross talk after AKI is unclear. The renal and immune systems of pigs and humans are alike. Using a preclinical animal (porcine) model, we tested the hypothesis that early...

Lowering Perfusate Temperature From 37°C to 32°C Diminishes Function in a Porcine Model of Ex Vivo Kidney Perfusion

BACKGROUND Ex vivo perfusion (EVP) is a novel method of preservation. However, optimal perfusion conditions remain undetermined. Reducing the temperature of the perfusate to subnormothermia may be beneficial during EVP and improve early graft function. The aim of this study was to investigate whether subnormothermia would influence the conditioning effect of EVP when compared with normothermic ...

Evaluation of myocardial perfusion and function after kidney transplantation by Gated SPECT myocardial perfusion scintigraphy

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of successful kidney transplantation (KT) on myocardial perfusion and left ventricular function by both qualitative (visual) interpretation and semiquantitative parameters, using myocardial perfusion scintigraphy with gated-single photon emission computed tomography (gated-SPECT) in patients suffering from end-stage renal disease. ...
